  • Abstract
    It is shown that doping MgO films with a transition metal, such as nickel, results in a statistically significant improvement in the stability of the operating voltages of an ac plasma display panel. Experimental results can be explained in terms of the effect of excess oxygen in the films on their surface properties, and the changes in the surface properties produced by ion bombardment during the discharge.
