Abstract :
Newly designed active multimode-interferometer laser diodes (MMI-LDs) with asymmetric cladding structure achieved significant reduction in driving voltage with high output power. The implemented active MMI-LDs achieved less than 2 V driving voltage at a high output power of more than 1 W.
