Abstract :
Second harmonic conversion has recently been reported by Krol et al. in aluminosilicate fibres containing rare earth elements such as Ce3+ and Eu2+. The results of a series of experiments aimed at characterising Eu2+ doped fibres and comparing their behaviour to germanosilicate fibres are reported.
