Abstract :
Radiation characteristic of a slotted metallic cylinder with a chiral coating is studied. With specified tangential electric field on the slotted cylinder surface, the electromagnetic fields are derived everywhere in an integral and a sum form. In particular, the radiation fields in the surrounding air region are derived in closed forms. The radiation conductance and input conductance of slots on the metallic cylinder are derived and numerical results are presented. It is shown that the chiral coating causes the radiation patterns to lose symmetry about the equatorial plane (θ=900) and the plane φ=0. Conditions under which the radiation from a linearly polarized slot is dominantly right circularly polarized are indicated
