Abstract
In this letter, the optical carrier-suppressed (OCS) modulation scheme is employed to transmit vector signals in radio-over-fiber systems. The proposed architecture employing the OCS modulation scheme needs only a balanced single driven Mach-Zehnder optical modulator, and has advantages of dispersion immunity and doubled frequency. Both detailed theoretical analysis and experiments are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed architecture.
