Abstract
Intelligent allocations and assignments lay the ground-work for electromagnetic compatibility; however, capability for measurements on emitters under actual-use conditions is necessary to ensure compliance with technical regulations, without which allocations and assignments mean little. Described in this paper is a vehicle-transported measurement system capable of measuring frequency, bandwidth, and other parameters of signals obtained "off-the-air" at the transmitting station site. Several alternative methods for these measurements are described, and suggestions for obtaining usable signals are provided.
