Abstract
A statistical method has been developed to treat the phase jitter between the laser pulse and the deflection Signal and the amplitude jitter of the deflection voltage of a synchroscan streak camera. Using normal distribution functions to model these random jitters, an expression for the recorded pulsewidth of a synchroscan streak camera has been obtained. With the aid of this expression, some experimental observations may be explained.
