Abstract :
A simple relationship between the ratio of the time constants of an RC-type lightning impulse generator circuit and the ratio of the virtual times defined by IEEE Standard 4 has been found by means of numerical methods. For the 1.2/50 waveform, the relationship is approximated to a linear equation.
