    Evangelia Micheli-Tzanakou ("Litsa") was a long-time IEEE volunteer, a member of the IEEE Board of Directors, a past president of IEEE Neural Network Society, and a good friend. She passed away on 24 September 2012, after a long illness. A brief biography of Evangelia Micheli-Tzanakou is given highlighting her professional achievements.
