Abstract :
A new mathematical model for estimating the depth and permittivity of subsurface layers from measured ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data is presented. The new model considers the effects from the air-ground interface and introduces a ray-path-searching process in the depth calculation. It includes the conventional model as a special case. The experimental results agree well with the new model.
