Abstract :
The cumulative detection probability is usually represented as an open-ended product, which, although easily evaluated by iteration, is not easily handled analytically. A closed-form representation is here obtained for this probability. It readily shows the dependencies upon search frame time and radar sensitivity. The expression will fit on small programmable hand calculators.
