  • Abstract
    Clos networks of large dimension built with optoelectronic matrices are analysed from performance measures recently reported. Networks serving over one thousand lines appear to be possible with current technology for a data rate of 1 Gb/s and bit error rate of 10 -12. Optoelectronic matrices offer sufficient size and flexibility that these networks can be optimised for minimal numbers of crosspoints
