Abstract :
A fully printable 60 GHz image-based chipless RFID tag provides high data capacity in a small area. The printed tag consists of an array of inclined conductive meander lines that act as effective electromagnetic (EM) polarizers. When illuminated with a linearly polarized signal, the tag backscatters high radar cross section (RCS) in orthogonal direction. The electromagnetic (EM) image of the tag is derived through synthetic aperture radar (SAR) signal processing that reveals the encoded content of the tag. The tag is very immune to multipath interference and clutter.
