Abstract
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) scheme can be used in the case of ultra-wideband (UWB) channel in order to achieve higher data rate communication in addition to its ability to increase the communication range. In the literature, there are different MIMO-UWB channel measurements in indoor environments. Different channel parameters have been extracted and analyzed. However, to the best of the authors´ knowledge, there is no measurement analysis for the case of outdoor MIMO-UWB channel. In this paper, outdoor MIMOUWB channel measurement has been conducted in a recreational park environment. The channel average received power and capacity has been analyzed. Results show that the scattering environment has an effect on the extracted parameter values, where higher received power and capacity can be seen at some longer transmitter-receiver separation distances.
