Abstract :
The power penalty due to a multi-grating filter with polarization-independent channel positions and two integrated amplifiers (in InGaAsP-InP) has been measured for multichannel operation. Each channel was operated at 2.488 Gb/s and more than 10 dB dynamic range was obtained. The main problem observed was cross-channel gain saturation in the input amplifier.
