Abstract :
An improved version of a previously reported technique for measuring the decay rates of the gain in TEA CO
2laser amplifiers is described. An application of the system to the measurements of

co
2-co
2and

co
2-co
2is reported. The advantages of this approach over a standard pulsed gain method are discussed.
