Abstract :
A simple scheme for optical single-sideband (OSSB) modulation based on the combination of a commercial optical intensity modulator and passive fibre optic components is proposed. In addition to dispersion compensation, this OSSB modulator has experimentally demonstrated enhancement of the optical modulation depth and receiver sensitivity of a Ku-band antenna remoting link.
