2004 Distinguished Service Award of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society Ultrasonics Committee - Fred S. Hickernell

Dr. fred s. hickernell (M\´64-SM\´70-F\´91-LF\´99) is the 8th recipient of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society Distinguished Service Award. The award was presented during ceremonies at the 2004 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium in Montreal, Canada, on August 24th 2004. The introductory remarks were presented by Dr. Arthur Ballato, president elect of the UFFC Society. Dr. Hickernell\´s awards citation reads: "For respected and diligent service to the IEEE UFFC-Society as President, as well as notable and enduring contributions to AdCom as Newsletter Editor, Fellows Committee Chair, Society Historian, and other positions, extending over more than thirty years."
