Abstract
Some new strategies for message retransmission in the slotted ALOHA protocol with multipacket messages are described. These strategies use the information given by the positive or negative acknowledgments received for each packet of a message to reduce the probability of new overlappings among the same messages. Their application to some retransmission protocols of interfered messages, such as classical ALOHA, stop-and-wait, go-back-N and selective protocols, is considered. The results show that a net improvement can be achieved by using these retransmission strategies.
