Abstract
This paper presents the characteristics of vibration, caused by partial discharge, electrostatic forced particles, electromagnetic or electrostatic forced parts, and operation of switchgear, etc., in metal enclosures of gas insulated equipment. A technique for pattern recognition of these vibrations is discussed and a method of three dimensional spectrographic display is examined. Suggestions for application of this method to predict internal faults in gas insulated equipment are proposed.
