Abstract
The design of the auxiliary electric system has a significant effect on the availability and reliability of a large power plant. Larger unit sizes and added environmental systems have resulted in an increase in the size and complexity of the plant´s auxiliary electric system. As the power plant design proceeds from conceptual to final design, the electrical auxiliary system must be constantly monitored to assure adequate power supply resources, that equipment is within specified ratings and that the system will provide desirable operating characteristics.
