Abstract
A simple method of evaluating the chain matix of 
- cascaded networks is presented. For this purpose, a new graph, called the 
-graph, is defined. It is also shown that the

parameters of the overall 
-matrix may be written by a knowledge of the -parameter, which is obtained through the -graph. Applications of the -graph in matrix multiplication and in obtaining the even and odd parts of a product of polynomials are suggested.
