Abstract
Pulse Burst Modulated (PBM) circuits inject dc currents into power networks. Non-linear inductances, especially transformers supplying or connected in parallel with PBM loads will be exposed to dc voltages which will cause the operation of the magnetic core to be on an asymmetrical B/H hysteresis loop. This work presents a theoretical model which enables the prediction of magnetizing current harmonics and dc biasing flux caused by a PBM load connected in a circuit with known parameters.
