Abstract
M3-NET is a multiwavelength optical network configuration for broadband communications. It uses multielectrode DFB LDs as both transmitter and receiver acting as a multi-function device. The selection of either spaced or dense wavelengths transmitting a high and low bit rate was successfully achieved. First experimental results of a fully connected three channel M3-NET are presented.
