Abstract :
Islanding detection is a significant part of photovoltaic (PV) and distributed generation systems. In this paper a novel method for islanding detection of PV is proposed. The proposed passive method utilizes the negative sequence impedance and phase of inverter output current. PV array model and maximum power point tracking effect are considered. This method has a negligible non-detection zones and it is immune to the dynamics of power system like load and capacitor switching. 100kw Sunpower PV system, boost converter and inverter are modeled and simulated at MATLAB Simulink. The simulation results demonstrate the superiority of proposed method for robust islanding detection.
