Abstract
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering A severe interference problem caused by a large rectifier installation is studied. The interaction between harmonic emission level and power system impedance matching is described. An elegant solution involving corrective measures on each of the plants: customer, power system and communication circuits, are proposed. The dangers of creating new problems with single approaches is stressed out, and the use of power current phase angles is illustrated in the analysis.
