Abstract :
Technology transfer is a growth area. At the interface between education and industry, bodies such as regional technology centres, training and enterprise councils, university-enterprise training partnerships and an army of private consultants supplement the efforts of liaison managers in universities and companies. Here, the author describes how a government assessment exercise has helped to point the way to better exploitation of university research
