Abstract :
A formula for the joint distribution function of two stack filters with common arguments is derived. Using this formula, the joint distribution function of any two samples in the output of a stack filter can be obtained. Here, it is presumed that the input signal is modelled as a sequence of independent random variables. This also allows analytic determination of the autocorrelation function of the output of an arbitrary stack filter.<>
