Abstract :
A novel variations of the conventional dipole radiator are analyzed. By properly choosing theirs parameters and outgoing lines of the exciting power divider/balun, it is possible to create the versions of the antenna that have suitable range of input impedance and figure-eight tilted radiation patterns. The change of the lengths of the outgoing lines allows the currents on the two arms of the antenna to have prescribed phase difference, thereby making the antenna operate at various states with corresponding E-plane maximum beam direction. The corresponding expressions for complex input impedances are derived in this paper.
