Abstract :
The EIA and the NCTA have developed a recommended channelization standard which applies to both cable television systems and equipment, and to consumer electronics hardware. The channelization system is explained. Cable systems use certain unusual channelization plans in some cases, as a countermeasure against distortion buildup in cable plant. The distortion characteristics of cable plant (and consumer electronics front ends) is explained in terminology particularly suitable for use in broadband systems
