Abstract
There are two different types of channel estimation methods: decision-directed channel estimation (DDCE) and pilot-symbol-aided channel estimation (PSACE). A new type of channel estimation method is proposed in which DDCE and PSACE are optimally combined based on estimated symbol error rate and signal-to-noise ratio.
