EIC volunteer profile

Eric David was born in Montreal in 1965. At Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal he earned a physics engineering degree (1988) and a master degree in optics. There he met Dr. Michael Wertheimer who suggested that he undertake a Ph.D. project in dielectric science, in collaboration with the Hydro-Quebec research center (IREQ). His work at the research center, on the impact of mechanical stresses on the dielectric properties of cable insulation, was supervised by Dr Jean-Pierre Crine and Dr. Jean-Luc Parpal. Eric credits both with inspiring his enthusiasm for the fields of dielectrics and high voltage engineering.
