Abstract :
An inexpensive, personal-computer-based system is described that is used to automate measurement sequences in undergraduate machinery laboratory experiments. The system is used in a manner that forces the student to focus on systematic experimental procedure. Use of the system releases enough time during regular laboratory sessions to allow student and instructor to examine results carefully and helps the student to develop a better understanding of phenomena associated with electric machinery
