Abstract :
The reliability of polymeric cable accessories which operates with voltage across an exposed surface depends upon the design of the accessory and the resistance of the material to erosion and surface tracking. There are no standard test methods to evaluate these properties with a good degree of confidence. This guide presents two candidate test methods, one designed for salt (sea coast) pollution and the other for industrial pollution, and recommends that both be used.
