  • Abstract
In this paper, we explore the application of the Internet of things paradigm to the field of emergency management, proposing the combination of sensor networks and heterogeneous technologies actuators with an adaptive signaling system in order to provide a fast, reliable and safe adaptive path localization procedure The proposed system takes into account not only the search of the shortest evacuation route, but also the nature of the emergency, therefore avoiding or minimizing potential risk from, for example, stored goods or the, current, status of the emergency exits. Additionally A case study for a sport stadium is also presented to better illustrate the proposed solution.
