  • Abstract
This paper presents the performance analysis of adaptive modulation with single-cell multiuser scheduling over independent non-identically distributed (i.n.i.d.) α-μ fading channels. Average channel capacity, spectral efficiency, and bit error rate (BER) for constant-power variable-rate, and variable-power variable-rate schemes considering M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM) are obtained in exact forms. Numerical results show that the multiuser diversity brings considerably better performance, specially when the flexibility of the generalized fading environments is considered.
