Abstract :
An iterative optimization technique based on the method of successive projections is proposed for the design of the two-dimensional (2-D) linear phase FIR digital filters. The technique is simple, fast, and compares favorably with the presently available design techniques. To illustrate the method several filters with masks up to 25 \\times 25 have been designed. The technique can also be used to design 1-D linear phase FIR filters.
