Abstract :
A frequency-division-multiplexed (FDM) optical loop buffer is presented for use in photonic ATM switching systems. Two packets at a data rate of 2.5 Gbit/s are stored in the buffer. It is confirmed that the bit error rate of the packets after up to 10 circulations is <10 -9
