Abstract :
A novel frequency-doubling optoelectronic-oscillator technique utilising the wavelength dependence of the half-wave voltage of a Mach-Zehnder electro-optic modulator is presented. Two wavelengths (1310 and 1550 nm) corresponding to the quadrature and null-transmission bias settings are used to pump the oscillator and to simultaneously generate self-starting 10 and 20 GHz signals with low-phase-noise properties
