Abstract :
The coupling of radio frequency energy from a source of interference to a digital system via an interconnecting cable is described. The subsequent low level interaction of the threat energy with the digital system is explored using theoretical and numerical techniques. The analysis predicts the formation of intermodulation products within the system, using a quasilinear model. Verification of the analysis by measurement is presented. The techniques have application in ensuring electromagnetic compatibility of equipment at the design stage
