Abstract :
The discusser argues that the authors of the original paper (Y. Lu et al., see ibid., vol.17, p.324-9, 2002) have presented an interesting approach for locating and controlling thyristor-controlled series capacitors (TCSCs) to enhance the static security of a power system. The simulation results presented in the paper illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. The discusser´s comments and questions are related to the application of the proposed approach when other security constraints are considered in the power system.
