  • Abstract
The giant magnetoresistance and magnetic properties of antiferromagnetic Ni0.5Co0.5O exchange-biased NiFe/Co/Cu/Co/NiFe spin-valves were studied. The samples were prepared by rf-diode sputtering and studied in the low field regime at room temperature so that they may be applicable for magnetic recording reading heads. A resistance change as large as 6% in a field of less than 20 Oe was obtained in multilayers of NiFe(60 Å)/Co(15 Å)/Cu(22 Å)/Co(15 Å)/NiFe(30 Å)/NiCoO(300 Å)/Si
