Abstract :
During the conceptual design phase of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, a series of finite-element stress analyses of different variants of the toroidal field coils (TFCs) have been performed. The three-dimensional stress state requires three-dimensional stress analysis. The complex microheterogeneous structure of the TFC requires a special algorithm for analysis. On the basis of a study of four variants of the TFC, the latest one was designed and analyzed.<>
