Abstract :
It is observed after saturation that sequential reverse pulses with fast rise times (<0.3 ns) and amplitudes H1 and H2 (H1<H2) induce a smaller percentage remanence change than a single pulse H2. For comparison, H2 is chosen near the remanence coercivity. The difference has a maximum near H1/H2~0.8 and its amplitude depends on pulse width and on the medium. These results are explained qualitatively by time-limited switching in pairs of interacting particles with different coercivities
