Abstract :
One-hundred-gigabit-per-second wavelength conversions have been demonstrated using a PD-EAM optical gate that monolithically integrates a photodiode and an electroabsorption modulator. Error-free operation within the wavelength range of 25 nm (1545-1570 nm) for input data signals and 20 nm (1545-1565 nm) for output data signals has been achieved. Power penalties of less than 2.1 dB with wavelength dependence below 0.6 dB have also been achieved.
