  • Abstract
    Overheads, resulting from handover procedure in LTE, depend on many factors including user mobility and traffic type. This paper reports the design and evaluation of an LTE test suite encompassing various mobility scenarios and traffic types as input parameters and calculates different overheads involved in LTE handover, for various physical layer parameters. Quantitative results are presented for an LTE system in handover and non-handover scenarios. Recorded physical layer parameters are transport block rate and number of resource blocks. Data Overhead and Spectrum Overhead are estimated for different traffic types and mobility conditions.
