A review of computer-aided part programming system developments

This paper provides a review of some of the major developments in computer-aided part programming from the very early days of the subject up to the present. These developments, while difficult to categorise, have been split into three groups for the purpose of presentation, starting with the early system developments, continuing with the part programming developments during the 1970s and concluding with the recent system developments.
