Abstract
A modified Korteweg-de Vries equation in a two-dimensional space comprising the externla magnetic field and the direction normal to a density gradient is derived for a plasma consisting of warm ion fluid (¿i = 3) and nonisothermal electrons (¿e > 1). The effect of ionic temperature and resonant electrons (both trapped and free electrons) on the amplitude and the width of the drift solitary wave is examined.
