Abstract
The authors consider the propagation characteristics and mode conversion of axisymmetric modes in an imperfect SELFOC fiber with longitudinal gradually varying dielectric constant K =ε/ε0=K 0-K 2(z )r 2. An analytic solution which is expressed in terms of generalized Laguerre polynomials is found
