Abstract :
Absolute calibration is a fundamental task to guarantee the accuracy of microwave radiometer measurements. The influence of a few factors (radiometer antenna pattern, radiometer pointing error, system random noise and the effect of Earth curvature), on the tipping curve calibration process is shown. It is found that an accurate tipping curve is obtained when a high number of observation angles, not under the horizontal line, is considered.
